Since I’ve never seen a song written about the topic, I thought it would be great to feature it here. It’s a rock song that feels a bit like a country song.

Spot on! OK, a bit of defensive machismo, but otherwise the right response with the right reasons: freestyling in a skirt!
How many times have I been asked, “is that a kilt?” when it clearly isn’t (no pleats, etc), and I reply, “no, it’s just a skirt.” And that has always sufficed.
