This is an interesting post from 2021 that discusses the fact that there are more men embracing wearing skirts. Unfortunately, it is not something that has gone mainstream yet, but I do get the feeling based on what I’ve seen on the street as well as the internet that more men are, indeed, wearing skirts — even if slowly.

Good brief article. I couldn’t get their captcha to display properly or accept my answer, so I could not post a reply there. If I had, it would have been this:
Those of us men who have discovered the comfort and look of skirts welcome all latecomers. For me, pants are strictly PPE – uncomfortable but needed sometimes for hazardous duty. Otherwise, a skirt for me, smartly styled with tucked in shirt and a belt; al & sandals. The skirts are most always with pockets (much better than a bag). For really cold weather my hem might drop below the knees, and I add very long socks that cover the whole thigh, so they both stay warm and stay up! And closed shoes.
Guys, if you’ve ever driven a long way in pants that work their way up into a personal pinch, you will be sold on skirts the first time you wear one to drive any distance.
BTW, I live on a rural road near a small town where I shop, mail, bank, get coffee and occasional dinner. Never had a negative remark in all these years.
“Personal pinch”. That’s gold. And painful. Can see the tagline “kilts prevent that personal pinch!”
Why use the word “kilt?” Cause uninitiated men need mollycoddling into realization that skirts are more comfortable.
The only thing I’d wish these types of articles would stop doing is stating it’s making men look “androgynous.”
Most men want to look like a man. They don’t want to stop looking like a man. Most men definitely do not want to look like a woman. Obvious NOTE: There is nothing wrong with that. But most men don’t in today’s society.
And so looking anything different than a man, like changing your look to appear androgynous, is similarly a change from the desired outward appearance.
And change is hard. And scary.
So I feel a change in tone could be helpful.
“Thats how a man looks wearing a skirt”.
We decry the term “manly skirt,” but could it be a means to an end?
JCNY is a far better wordsmith than I as I’ve learned in my men’s skirt website. So have at it. What’s a better phrase for the look of a man wearing a skirt that says that’s a look for a man.
