While this is a little outside of the scope of this blog with its emphasis on men wearing gender-non-conforming clothing, it is still an interesting read and several pointers could be taken from it even as someone who is not trying to mask their sex.
What I also found interesting about the article is that they discuss AMAB (assigned male at birth) people should feel free to wear clothing found in the women’s department — including skirts and dresses. They even have a few style recommendations.
How would you rate this post?
Not a bad article but the non-binary/androgynous look also seems to be a euphemism for dressing women in drab men’s stuff that’s baggy so there’s no body definition.
I’m not against anyone who wants to dress that way but these articles always spend a lot of time on that with a small, oh yeah, men can wear feminine stuff too thrown in as an after thought.
Just my two cents.
Yeah, I agree. Androgynous fashion really is very drab and oriented towards men’s fashion. I’ve actually got a post in the works about that. 😉
I believe I get the point of the article, empowering people who consider themselves as not pure male enough and not pure female enough to explore capabilities of modern clothing, but you can do it easily only from one side of the river, unless you really can disguise properly to avoid confusion of always-complaining NPCs. Haven’t ever seen someone complaining about girl wearing oversized hoodie or whatever kind of 90s jeans.
You can absolutely do it from either end of the gender spectrum!
