As I watch women push the limits with their minimal fashions, sheer design, free the nipple, micro skirts and thong bikinis, I see men’s design almost going in the opposite direction. It’s time men get to free themselves of conservative designs. Why must men cover every part of their bodies except hands and head. Are our bodies that gross? Remember the 60s and 70s shorts. It’s time we shake it up too.
I agree! I’ve often thought that men have more issues with they body image than women do simply because it’s much more taboo to show it off. It’s acceptable for us to go shirtless in public, but that’s it.
It seems that cultures outside of Europe have more variety and what is called nowadays as inclusivity. I mean obviously dresses, which are probably more important part of one’s presentation – and they have their traditions better preserved and less questioned. I have one lungi but I’m still not sure if to keep it as that was the gift, or try it out finally.
True, although unless you go back to medieval Europe, most European traditional dress doesn’t involve men in dresses or skirts, unfortunately. Scotland is certainly an exception to that though.
