Excellent article. I am very much in favour of the saying that women have a harder life physically, while men have a harder life mentally precisely because of the toxic patriarchal conditioning forced upon us as boys that leads to many mental conflicts in adulthood. Our parents check the boxes of masculinity and fix us in a straightjacket we don’t want to be in because we realise as men that to be the best we can be, we must be in touch with the masculine as well as the feminine and our emotions. This is where wearing skirts, tights and heels help us break free of that straightjacket and liberates us and reinforces the person we should be.
