Majority of points raised in the article are valid, but we sadly need to remember that we live in a society that still takes its time to develop “awareness and attitude” to unusual things, especially related to men. Also, we can’t allow kids to do everything, so as a parent it’s a pretty difficult task nowadays to let child be free and happy, but do not make it selfish to the point of expecting every wish to be “completed”, only because we allowed it to do what they feel good about
That is true. It takes a very long time for unusual things to become “usual”. I am sure I will be faced with my son wanting to wear a skirt or dress at some point in the future and will have to figure out what to do when that happens. Of course, he can wear what he wants at home, but I would be worried about him being bullied at school. We do live in a very conservative, fairly rural area.
